After several years of trying to photograph Madlib, I finally had the chance last Friday.. I had about 10 minutes of light to work with, and the rain had stopped for a minute to let me shoot. The actual assignment was to get shots of both Madlib, and Freddie Gibbs, to announce the new album they have been working on, which you can read about here..

I’ll post up those photos, from what turned into a long night of shooting, but for now, this is an out take of Madlib, that I shot for myself..

Back in June, I spent a day wondering around the Patagonia headquarters, in Venture, CA., photographing the unique, and very laid back work environment for a feature in Businessweek. It was everything from bare foot employes, to surf breaks at lunch, and community beach cruisers for running errands. Overall, it seems to make a pretty happy group of employees..

I spent a few hours at Sugar Inc., the company of Lisa Sugar, in downtown San Francisco, for a feature on “millionaire bloggers”. It was pretty impressive to see how something as simple as blogging, can turn into a successful company such as Sugar Inc. Thanks to Kelly, at Marie Claire for assigning me this one, and Tietjen Fischer, of Artists United for the styling..

Here’s the final image used, along with one I like..

I had the opportunity to photograph video game designer, Jason Roher, you can read about him here…. A pretty nice guy, with a very simplistic life style. I had a great time spending the day at his house, photographing him, his family, and his gadgets. Here is how the final piece came out….
